BAASLAB Climate Change Solutions
Funding establishment

Funders, CSR and grants

You fund a change and then have to prove it happened. This page states what the money buys, why it would not happen without it, and exactly what arrives in your reporting pack.

The short answer

Grants buy the three years nobody else will pay for

  • Establishment is all of the risk and none of the revenue
  • After it, the block pays for its own maintenance
  • So funding ends rather than being renewed forever
  • We put our own capital and a long lease in alongside
  • Baseline is recorded before the first pit is dug
  • Bad numbers are reported the same way as good ones
Where we actually are

Baaslab Private Limited was incorporated in 2026. We have no completed projects, no deployed grant funding and no impact figures to show you. What we have is a published method, reference designs, a measurement approach and a scorecard that reads zero in public. If your programme requires a delivery record, we do not have one yet, and that is the honest position rather than a soft one.

The chain

Problem to scale, with the measure on each link

A link with no measure attached to it is a claim, not a result.

01

Problem

Degraded and marginal land across India that no longer supports a crop, holds no water and carries almost no carbon. It stays that way because restoring it costs money for three years before it returns any.

Measured as: soil organic carbon, canopy cover, water table, existing income per hectare
02

Intervention

A long lease over the parcel, tiered planting suited to the actual soil and rainfall, water structures, protection through establishment, and a sensor and survey layer installed on day one rather than at reporting time.

Measured as: hectares under lease, blocks planted, protection in place
03

Additionality

The landowner cannot fund three unpaid years and the market will not, which is why the land is idle. Grant money covers exactly that establishment window and nothing else, so it causes work that otherwise does not happen.

Measured as: cost per hectare through establishment, against no intervention
04

Change

Survival counted plot by plot, canopy cover from satellite over the same boundary, soil carbon re-sampled at the same points, water recharge, and wages paid locally through the maintenance years.

Measured as: survival rate, cover change, soil carbon change, wage days
05

Continuation

Once established, the block earns from biomass, crops, carbon removal or generation on the same parcel, and that revenue pays for maintenance. The grant is not renewed to keep the block alive.

Measured as: revenue per hectare against maintenance cost per hectare
06

Scale

The same lease, planting, measurement and reporting pattern applied to the next parcel. What limits it is clean land assembly and staff on the ground, not method, which is why the honest scaling constraint is land records and not technology.

Measured as: parcels assembled per year, cost per hectare as area grows
Reporting

What lands in your pack

On the intervals agreed before work starts, not on the intervals that suit the results.

  • Baseline pack, filed before work starts, with the boundary geo referenced
  • Survival counts at agreed intervals, each with the method used stated on it
  • Satellite cover series over the identical boundary and the identical dates
  • Photographic series from fixed camera points, re-shot rather than re-chosen
  • Soil carbon re-sampled at the original sample points, not at better ones
  • Wage and payment records for local labour through the maintenance years
  • A written note on anything that failed, before you have to ask about it
The rule behind all of it

The method is published before the numbers it produces. That order is the only thing that stops a measurement approach from being chosen after the fact to suit the outcome, and it is the reason a figure from us can be re-checked by someone who was never on the site.

Foreign funding

We confirm the route before accepting anything

Indian law governs how a company here may receive foreign contributions, and the lawful route depends on the nature of the payment and the registration of the receiving entity. Rather than describe a structure we may not be eligible for, we will confirm the correct route for your specific proposal first. If the lawful answer is that we should be an implementing partner to an entity that already holds the necessary registration, that is what we will tell you.

Common questions

Funding BAASLAB

What would a funder be paying for at BAASLAB?
Establishment. The first two to three years of a restoration block or a generation site, which carry the whole risk and produce no revenue. After that the block earns from biomass, carbon removal, crops or power, and pays for its own maintenance. Grants buy capacity here, never running costs.
Why would this not happen without funding?
Because the money and the benefit sit years apart. A degraded parcel needs planting, protection and water through two dry seasons before it holds value, and the owner of marginal land cannot carry three unpaid years. That gap is the reason the land stays degraded, and closing it is what the funding does.
How does BAASLAB report impact to a funder?
Against a baseline recorded before work starts, on fixed intervals agreed in advance, using both ground sample counts and satellite cover over the same boundary. The method is published before the results. Figures that go the wrong way are reported the same way as figures that go the right way.
Can BAASLAB receive foreign funding?
Only through a route that is lawful for this entity at the time, and we disclose which route was used. Indian law on foreign contributions depends on the nature of the payment and the registration of the receiving entity. If the correct answer is that we should be an implementing partner to an organisation that already holds the necessary registration, we will say that rather than work around it.
What has BAASLAB delivered so far?
Nothing yet. The company was incorporated in 2026 and has no completed projects and no deployed grant funding. The public scorecard publishes the real figures including the zeros, and it went up before there was anything good to put in it.
