Watershed
A watershed is the area of land that drains rainfall to a common point, such as a stream or a tank. What happens anywhere in it affects water everywhere downstream, which is why restoration is planned by watershed rather than by plot boundary.
Cover, contour bunds and recharge structures placed with the drainage in mind hold more water on the land than the same structures placed by convenience.
It also explains why restoring one block lifts wells on neighbouring land, a benefit that reaches people who were not party to the lease.
